The Gators have the nation’s top-ranked recruiting class, and several Florida commits showed why Saturday. Led by multiple future Gators, the Black team was outstanding defensively in its 32-7 win, holding the White team to 125 yards of total offense. Safety Jonathan Dowling (Bradenton, Fla./Southeast) had two interceptions, and fellow safety Demar Dorsey (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Boyd Anderson) had a key fumble recovery.
Defensive end Dominique Easley (Staten Island, N.Y./Curtis) won Most Valuable Player honors for the Black team. He committed to Florida during the game.

“We have a great recruiting class coming in,” he said. “We are going to do some great things for the Gator Nation.”

As if that wasn’t enough, Florida cornerback commit Joshua Shaw (Palmdale, Calif./Palmdale) had one of the few big plays for the White team, a second-half interception.

You know I say if all these recruits want to decommit than screw em, let em go, they aren’t Gator material then. Being a Gator should be an honor to these recruits. So let em go and then watch as they wish they would have stayed a Gator when we win the National title once again!

I’ll agree it’s speculative. I didn’t report it as fact and don’t intend people to go around using it as fact. Most would have wrote the article and not even prefaced with anything.

OK, this post is completely speculative at best, rumor-mongering at worst. It’s HIS life, we’re NOT entitled to know about it, and we should respect that. Period. By the way, Mat… no offense, but this is not circumstantial evidence. It is hearsay evidence. Your friend being on the same ward with the same doctors isn’t as you put it “worthy of reporting.”

It’s funny how every year people watch during ESPN’s “Jimmy V Week” to see Valvano’s famous espy speech. In that speech he says that “every day we should be moved to tears.” He also says that “if you can laugh, cry, and love all in one day, that’s a heck of a day.” People watch that speech and gush over it. And yet when we see someone actually doing just that, what do we do? We ridicule him. Why? Because he doesn’t play for my team. That’s just pathetic. If you’re going to ridicule Tebow, why not be consistent and poke fun at Jim Valvano too?
