Florida Gators Get 15th Verbal Commitment

After gaining two verbals at the beginning of the week, the Gators got their 15th commitment of the year from New Berlin, N.Y., Milford Academy athlete Travon Van on Thursday.
Van was originally a part the 2009 recruiting class and played high school ball at Helix High in La Mesa, Cali., as a running back and defensive back. He finished his senior year with 1,237 yards and 10 touchdowns off 139 carries.
Van told Rivals.com that an injury during the spring semester of his junior year caused him to pull out of school, and put him behind academically. Instead of going the junior college route, Van opted to go to prep school instead.

The atmosphere, the players the coaching staff, the way Urban Meyer runs his program like a family, I felt like I fit in,” Van told Rivals.com “I know people here are talking about me being far away from home, but it’s like another family there with the comfort they give you.
