The question on Gator fans (and Tiger fans) across the nation is whether Tim Tebow will be ready to go by LSU.  This definitely changes game plan on both teams.  LSU has to face a Gator offense they haven’t seen with Brantley behind the reigns and Florida has to run an offense they have yet to run.  Which team has the advantage?

I can easily say Florida but what would it mean since this is a Gator blog and I am a Gator fan.  Many fans have mixed emotions on the subject about Tim Tebow playing this Saturday against LSU.  Let’s face it, if he’s not ready to play, he’s not going to play.  Tim Tebow not playing doesn’t mean we’ll lose, it just means we will have a much more even matchup against the Tigers.

Tim Tebow's Jump Pass Against LSU

Tim Tebow has been doing everything he normally does: watching film, attending class, etc.  Everything except practicing that is.  Tim has been given memory and balance tests Friday, Sunday and Monday and the tests were very positive according to Meyer.  Meyer also mentioned that Tebow could still play if cleared later in the week.

Brantley is over 70% on completions for the season however, he has not played on the big stage yet.  If Brantley is called to play it will be a good determination of just how good this Gator team is.  If we can win without Tebow, it will silence a lot of critics about how well the Gators will do next year.

Urban stated he would not keep Tebow’s status top secret as a ploy to make LSU prepare for both quarterbacks.  He went on to say the offensive structure probably wouldn’t change that greatly either:

“I haven’t even thought about it,” Meyer said. “A lot of that I think is overrated. I think one’s a great proven player and one’s got a lot of ability. Do things change? Are we going to abandon (our offense) and all of a sudden be this I-formation, under-center, power, off-tackle team? No, we’re not.

“We might have some of that in there. So is there an advantage? I don’t know that. You’d have to ask them, but I think a lot of that’s overrated.”

Whether it be Tebow or Brantley, LSU will have a tough time playing against whichever quarterback takes the field on Saturday at 8 PM.
