Ryan Mallett Looks Good on Paper

This Saturday at 3:30 PM, Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators will host Ryan Mallett and the Arkansas Razorbacks for UF’s first home game in nearly a month. Let’s clear things up though, Ryan Mallett, while he looked good last week against Arkansas, is a paper QB.
The battle of the 15's
Mallett has thrown an INT in the last three games and his best game of the season against UGA was still lost. When you throw 5 td’s and over 400 yards you kind of expect to win the game. Unfortunately two things are working against Mallett and the Razorbacks.

I know seems like those are broad statements but let’s dig a little further…
When Arkansas played Alabama (arguably one of the toughest defenses in the SEC) Ryan Mallett’s stats simply went down the drain. Against a top SEC defense, which he’ll face this Saturday, he went 12/35 160 yards 1 TD 1 INT. This will not get it done against the Gator defense.
Arkansas just can’t keep teams out of the endzone. Their defense is prone to let the big plays happen as we say in the UGA and Auburn game. When the game was close to being a runaway game, Arkansas’ defense let them right back in it with a big play. This isn’t going to bode well with Florida’s speed and rushing attack (against Auburn the big plays were on the ground).
They have two things working against them in this game. Mallett is going to have a hard time throwing for 3 td’s against a Florida team that has only allowed 2 TD’s all year long and the help he will receive defensively will be little to none. Florida will win this game in old fashion: Florida 38 – Arkansas 10
