Urban Meyer has decided not to resign and instead will take a leave of absence reports Chris Mortensen for ESPN News. This wicked roller coaster of emotions for Urban, Gator Nation and everyone else involved may have finally settled down.
Scout is reporting the same as well:
Just got off the phone with Hollywood Bob who has been told by two of his best sources that Meyer has had a Billy Donovan moment and is reconsidering his decision. He has been told that Meyer told his players before boarding the plane for New Orleans that he was going to stay.
There has been no timetable set on his return, though the source said it could be as early as next season.
Steve Addazio will be the interim head coach at Florida. Urban will stay on as an assistant athletic director in 2010 and this should help keep recruits.
