For those of you that don’t know what beast mode is:
going crazy just pwning every one in site a complete level above the oppent
Sorry for the non-gramatical way of defining it but it basically means being ridiculous on the field. Some have give the nickname to Marshawn Lynch of the Buffalo Bills but Carlos Dunlap is close to entering beast mode.
In high school, Dunlap didn’t have to try as hard to show this beast mode as the competition was weak and scarce. Quickly after getting to UF, he realized that almost everyone was up to his potential.
“When I first got here, I probably had lazy tactics,” Dunlap said. “In high school, everything was so easy for me. I didn’t have to use all my energy to make plays in high school because I was the best player at my school.”
Dunlap quickly learned that wouldn’t get him by in college and that the “lazy tactics” used in high school would not fly with Meyer and the Florida coaches. It wasn’t until last season that Florida fans began seeing the plays that Dunlap was brough here to make. He began to look like he was back in high school again just manhandling offensive linemen and making the big plays everyone already knew he was capable of.
He blocked three punts (the most by a player in a season in school history), had 9.5 sacks and a team-leading 13.5 tackles for loss. He culminated his year by earning the most valuable defensive player award in …
