University of Florida recent senior Stacey Nelson (Los Alamitos, Calif.) earned her first win as a member of the U.S. National team in a 7-0, five-inning victory over Australia in round-robin play at the Canada Cup on Tuesday night. The U.S. improved their record to 5-0 in the tournament.

Stacey did not however pitch the entire five innings against Australia. She started out edgy with a couple hits in the first and came back in the 2nd inning with a 1 – 2 – 3 inning. She was then relieved for the 2nd half of the game and still maintained the shut out stats.
Stacey Nelson maintained an amazing 0.61 ERA in her senior year at UF and will be dearly missed heading into next season.
