Two members of the University of Florida lacrosse coaching staff look to bring the gold medal back to the United State at the 2009 Federation of International Lacrosse Women’s World Cup. Play for the 16-team event begins Thursday in Prague, Czech Republic. In the seven previous World Cups, the U.S. claimed the gold five times (2001, 1997, 1993, 1989 and 1982).
Erica LaGrow and Jenny Ulehla, both UF Assistant Lacrosse Coaches, were named to the USA team earlier this year. LaGrow, who graduated from North Carolina, is a midfielder for the 18-member U.S. roster. Ulehla will be coaching from the sidelines as an U.S. assistant coach.
